Meet Our Leaders
Johan de Jong
Pastor
I’m loving being a part of the leadership of Bethel and am privileged to work here full time. I came to faith in my early teens, and God has been flooding my heart and my world with light ever since.
I love cross-country running, watching live ice hockey (Let’s Go Guildford!), sitting in coffee shops with a good book, and spending time with my wife and three children.
Paula McNeight
Church Administrator
I cover comms, admin, coordinating church activities and managing the premises. With my husband David I've worshipped at Bethel for many years; we feel privileged to be part of such a caring community. Outside of church, I love spending time with my dogs and cooking for friends.

Rachel Hughes
Kids on the Hill Coordinator
I co-ordinate a kids club and also volunteer for all sorts of things! You will often find me at church, running after my two boys and clutching a coffee cup that needs to be washed up! Bethel has been a wonderful community for me and my husband and it's a joy to be involved. In my spare time I enjoy decorating the house and working on the garden.

Keith Holburn
Elder
I’ve been married to Diane for 35 years and we have one daughter and one grandson. I’m retired having worked in the aviation industry for nearly 40 years. However sometimes it feels like I’m busier now, as alongside my eldership & childcare responsibilities I help with a Christian charity that sends tools to Africa.
Andy Brooks
Elder
It’s a privilege to serve at Bethel which has a special place in my heart. I have been coming for over 20 years, and married my wife Fiona in the old chapel. I enjoy playing any musical instrument I can get my hands on with varying degrees of success, buying more books than I can read, walking and armchair cricket.
Richard Honeysett
Elder
I have worshipped at Bethel with my wife Lucy and two daughters for several years. As an elder, I lead a community group that brings together members of the Bethel church family who live in Aldershot. Outside of church, I work in teacher training and enjoy playing tennis and football.
David McNeight
Elder
I've been worshipping at Bethel with my wife Paula for over half my life, having moved over from Ireland. Outside of church is a mix of filling in holes dug by our two dogs, working for a charity that advises people with money issues, doing bits of DIY and decorating, and when I find the time, photography.
Fiona Brooks
Lead Deacon
I enjoy being a part of the Deacon and Music Teams. I've been attending Bethel for many years and love its warm and friendly atmosphere. I'm married to Andy and have two grown-up (kind of!) children.

Alistair Edwards
Deacon (Finance)
I’ve been coming to Bethel since 2004 when I moved down from the midlands with work. My primary role as Deacon is Financial Reporting. I worship with my wife May and son Rhys. Outside of work I enjoy following football, trying to keep fit and not spend money on gadgets I don’t need.
John Clothier
Deacon (Maintenance)
I with my wife Amanda and family enjoy coming and worshipping in the relaxed atmosphere at Bethel. I help look after the buildings inside and out. I love to spend time playing music or reading a good book.

Lucy Honeysett
Deacon (Care)
I love being a part of Bethel family! I enjoy serving God in different ways but have a particular heart for older friends in our church community. I work for a Christian charity that connects Christian care workers; encouraging one another to live and speak for Jesus and keep going in this precious work. In my free time you’ll find me searching for treasure in charity shops!
Phil Hughes
Deacon (Technology)
I have been at Bethel for almost 10 years, with my wife Rachel and we have 2 boys. I'll often be seen either playing bass guitar at the front or hiding behind the PA desk at the back! When I have time I enjoy being out in nature.
